Sidewalks

Sidewalks, a simple word that invokes the thoughts of a pedestrian walking has many meanings as well. This one, for example before it was broken was used to help take students and parents walk to the nearby elementary school.

Now that it is broken, I’ve seen students forced to travel the alternative routes which are more dangerous or take longer to travel.

The solution

Currently right now, there is a solution to fix the problem,w hen i interviewed the local elementary school principal, she was able to tell me that the sidewalk will be repaired the summer of 2027.

Connection to global politics

When I started my political engagement and participation project, I did not expect, a lot for me to find, what I did find was a solution and a better understanding of global politics.

Connections I Made

• Interdependence: I realized how cities, the school board, the county and organizations work together to solve the issue
• Development: I interviewed a community leader who talked about wanting a better community by improving infrastructure
• Power: I noticed how some people were unable to make a change in the community because they had no experience to
